2017 Fete du Nain Participants!

Avalon International Breads – 422 W. Willis St.:  Don’t miss the famous red velvet whoopee pies that are made each spring in honor of the Fete du Nain!

Cadieux Café – 4300 Cadieux Rd.:  On Thursday, March 16, the first Krewes du Rouge neighborhood party is being held at the Cadieux Café.  For $5 cover, the party will include live music, entertainment and some surprises.

Cass Café – 4620 Cass Ave.:  Prepare for the coming of the Nain with a special Tito’s Bloody Nain, along with rotating Nain-friendly food specials, March 20-26.

City Bird and Nest – 460 W. Canfield St. – From 11am-2pm on Marche day, both stores will host their 8th annual Nain Rouge Fete. Both shops will offer complimentary Nain-themed refreshments, as well as free Nain Rouge beads with every purchase. In addition, City Bird will feature their exclusive Nain Rouge-themed merchandise (t-shirt designed by designed by Detroit artist Courtney Jentzen), amazing vintage-style paper masks and costume accessories with a free mask-making table for adding the finishing touches to your costume.

Downtown Bike Shop – 412 Peterboro St.:  After driving out the Nain, bring your bike to the shop, save $20 on a tune up.  Take $10 off all in stock accessories and $50 off any in stock bikes.  Nain specials are available parade day.  If your bike gets damaged running the Nain out of the City, make sure to drop it off.

Filson – 441 W. Canfield St.:  Bring your decked out pooch to Filson’s on March 26, parade day, for their Nain Rouge Doggie Costume contest – the winner receives $100 gift card!  They’re located right at the parade start.  Don’t have a dog? Sign up for their Nain Rouge raffle. Also on Marche Day, Sweet Sherina’s will be offering complimentary cupcakes and pupcakes while supplies last.

Green Dot Stables – 2200 W. Lafayette Blvd.:   Don’t miss the Fete du Nain Flaming Hot Cheetos Slider and Nain Rouge themed cocktails, March 22-26!

Hop Cat – Detroit – 4265 Woodward Ave.:  Stop by March 26 on parade day for a Saucy Bloody Mary Bar, Nain Exclusive Wings Sauces, Rouge Chicken & Sausage Gumbo. Cap of the day with special Nain-inspired beers:  Victory Hop Devil, AleSmith Lil’Devil, Old Nation Detroit Dwarf, Old Nation Double Dwarf, and B.Nektar Necromangocon.  Check for special Nain beers – March 20-26.

The Hub/Back Alley Bikes – 3611 Cass Ave.:  Celebrate new beginnings and liberation from the Nain with exclusive Fete du Nain PREVIEW weekends at The Hub before their spring GRAND RE-OPENING -Sunday, April 2nd.  Their Nain Rouge Marche Saddle-Up Special runs 11am-4pm, Saturday and Sunday, March 18-19, and Saturday and Sunday, March 25-26.  Show them your Nain Rouge spirit and get 15% off any bike parts or bikes necessary for you to chase the Nain away.

Huron Room – 2547 Bagley Ave.:  Don’t miss the Faygo Red Pop Sweet and Sour fried fish.  Wet your whistle with a very special Nain Rouge-themed cocktail too – Monday, March 20, through Sunday, March 26.

La Feria – 4130 Cass Ave.:  Fete du Nain drinks showcased March 20-26 – including El Nain Rojo–a crimson gin elixir with dashes of bitters, local shrubs, and pomegranate – sure to detox the negative by infusing the positive.  Their bloody red Sangria is sure to befuddle the Nain.  Only the Nain rallies a rare occurrence of a Sunday Brunch – from 10:30-3:30 for brunch, bar ‘til 5 pm.

Little High Flyers – 4240 Cass Ave.:  Detroit’s newest children’s store is preparing for the Nain with a special Mask promotion with 25% off on children to adults wonderful animal sleeping masks, March 20-26.  Ööloom is an animal friendly brand that harnesses the ancient power of wild animals – side effects may include sleepiness, darkness, and indescribable sense of security.

Mills Apothecary – 4125 Cass Ave.:  As you ready for the Nain, don’t miss the special ‘Rouge’ colored and themed products that will be specially priced March 20-26th.  Look and smell great while you are driving out the Nain!  

Motor City Brewing Works – 470 W. Canfield Ave.:  Special Nain Inspired pizza specials for the week of Monday the 20 – Sunday the 26th.  Parade mornings, doors open @ 11 am with special Breakfast pizzas, and Nain Inspired Bloody Beers and Beermosa’s until Marche start.  Pizza specials after the parade.

Noir Leather –  124 W. Fourth St., Royal Oak:  15% off everything in the store that is red, March 16-26.  Get your costume accessories or an adult sexy play toy for use after the banishment festivities.

Slows To Go – 4107 Cass Ave.:  Help kick the Nain out of Detroit and give your taste buds a kick with our rib tips and BBQ Drummies – both red, saucy, and delicious.  Specials running March 20-26, then they’ll be added to their new menu so you can kick the Nain all year.

Socra Tea Detroit– 71 Garfield Ave. – Suite 50:  Detroit’s tea room just a couple blocks east of the Nain Rouge parade route, bulk tea sales of fiery red teas are 25% off Monday March 20th to March 26th.  They’ll help you banish the imp while warming you up too.  

Traffic Jam and Snug – 511 W. Canfield St.:  The second Krewes du Rouge party will be held March 23 at the Traffic Jam and Snug.  For $5, attendees will see live music, a show, and a DJ.  TJs will also feature their annual Fete du Nain Rouge Crawfish boil.

Treat Dreams – 4160 Cass Ave.:  Come to the patio starting at 10 AM parade day.  Don’t miss the spicy hot chocolate to get your core ready for the Nain.  After a day of battle, drop in for a specially prepared post-Nain ice cream as a rich reward.  Nain specials offered March 24-26.

Union Street – 4145 Woodward Ave.:  Even with the Q-Line readying for travel up and down Woodward, Union St. is readying for the Nain with specials throughout the Fete du Nain (March 16-26).  Don’t miss the Nain Rouge Extreme Milk Shake, Shrimp Po Boy on Sweet Corn Hoagie, and/or the Red Devil Sticky Wings.

The Old Miami

Some traditions should never be broken and dancing at the Old Miami after marching down Cass is one of them. Just because the parade is over doesn’t mean the party is. Join the ladies of Nothing Elegant and friends for some devlish day debauchery and dancing shenanigans. 21+ $5
